JINLIYUAN (锦梨源) is the export brand of Weixian JINLIYUAN Fruit Co., Ltd., rooted in Weixian County, Handan — the hometown of the Chinese Ya pear. Here the ancient course of the Yellow River left behind deep, well-drained sandy loam rich in potassium and selenium, and a pear-growing tradition that stretches back more than two thousand years. Our 800 mu (53 ha) orchard holds over 3,600 trees, most of them between 40 and 80 years old. Their roots reach five metres into the subsoil, and their slower, steadier rhythm gives fewer but far more concentrated fruits — thin-skinned, stone-cell free and naturally sweet at 13-15° Brix. We farm as the old growers did: hand-bagged fruit, pheromone traps and beneficial insects instead of chemical sprays, and fermented organic fertiliser. Then we add what they never had — a field pre-cooling station, a 5,000-tonne controlled-atmosphere store, and refrigerated containers that hold 0-2 °C from our packing house to the port. Since 2015 JINLIYUAN pears have travelled to supermarkets and wholesale markets in 12 countries across Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Europe, arriving as crisp and sweet as the morning they were picked.
